FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much does a stay at Lodge Havnnes cost?

Our rates vary based on season, group size, and specific requests. Lodge Havnnes is available only for exclusive-use bookings. Please contact us directly with your preferred dates and group size, and we will provide a tailored quote.

Note that we require a minimum stay of three nights (but recommend 5-6) to ensure our guests have the time to fully experience the destination and all it has to offer.

Can I book just one room?

Yes and no - it is possible to book the lodge for just one or two rooms. However, please note that Lodge Havnnes is available exclusively as a full-property rental, meaning the entire lodge will be reserved for you alone - regardless of how many rooms you use. This ensures complete privacy and a truly tailored experience, but naturally reflects in the total price. For solo travelers or couples seeking full seclusion, it is a unique opportunity to have the entire Arctic lodge to yourselves.

Where is the lodge located and how do I get there?

Lodge Havnnes is located on the island of Uløya in Arctic Norway, overlooking the Lyngen Alps. Despite its remote setting, it is accessible via boat and helicopter, and by car and a short (6 minute) ferry crossing.

Many guests arrive via Tromsø, Alta or Sørkjosen Airport. From there, we can arrange private car, boat, or helicopter transfers directly to the lodge. Travel assistance is included in the booking process.

Is there an airport nearby which accommodates private jets?

Yes. Alta Airport, a 2,5 hour drive from our mainland ferry terminal, accommodates private jets and is the preferred arrival point for many of our guests. From there, we arrange seamless transfers either by car, or helicopter directly to the lodge, depending on your preferences.

Is the lodge suitable for children?

Yes, we welcome families and can tailor both activities and dining to suit children of all ages. However, please note that we do not have family rooms or baby cribs at the lodge. Additionally - mind that some activities such as kayaking and snowmobiling do have individual age limits.

When is the best time to visit?

Each season offers something unique, depending on what you're looking for. With November - January being the ultimate season for whale watching, February - April for skiing and July-September for hiking, it really only depends on what you are searching for.

When is the Northern Lights season?

The northern lights are "always" present — even when we can’t see them. During the summer months, the Arctic is bathed in 24-hour daylight, making the aurora invisible to the eye. But as darkness gradually returns in late August, the lights begin to reveal themselves once again. From then on, they remain visible through April, until the next season of midnight sun takes over the skies.

Do I need to be a skilled skier to ski the mountains around the lodge?

You don’t need to be an expert skier, but we recommend that you have some prior skiing experience, either from ski resorts or back-country skiing. The terrain surrounding Lodge Havnnes offers a wide range of routes, but this is not a destination for first-time skiers. All guided tours are tailored to your group’s level and preferences, with safety and enjoyment as top priorities.
